Taurus: April 21-May21 - The Bull
Archetype: The
Lover. You are the Romeo of the zodiac, always romantic love.
There is rarely a moment of beauty that escapes you. With this
magnetism you can woo anyone into your arms - even
if you hadn't intended it to play out that way.
Stone: Emerald.
The name emerald comes from the Greek word smaragdos meaning "green
stone" and probably referred not just to emeralds but to all
or many green gems. Emeralds are associated to a great deal of
folklore. It was used as a burnt offering, a symbol of St. John,
and supposedly was a poison antidote, a cure for fevers and epilepsy,
eye relief (due to the exceptional color), a cure for dysentery
and leprosy, a cure for bleeding, for stomach problems (when
laid on the stomach), and a good laxative.
Ruling Planet: Venus.
Aphrodite/Venus is considered an enticing creature, even to
the extent that Aries/Mars submits to her. Being the daughter
of Jupiter/Zeus she is born out of the ocean's foam, symbolizing
heavenly love. She is the goddess who reigns over the realm
of instinctive sensual pleasures. Venus represents the
feminine nature, the appreciation of love as well as the sense
for arts and harmony. In the horoscope, she represents for
the need of culture, tact, and manners. Venus is supposed to
bring some form of luck, but one should be careful in this
respect or they may be lead by her into temptation.
Defining Animal: The bull. The
Egyptian Hourus was the bull of heaven, and a white bull was
sacrificed in Babylonia at the New Year to placate Ramman, the
god of thunder and lightning.
Health Problems: Taurus
rules the throat and neck. It is, therefore, common to have
problems with throat infections and asthma. You may be at risk
of diseases of the genitals, womb, liver and kidneys, and of
rheumatism. Because of you body type and your love of all things
rich and sweet, you are more likely to be lazy and overweight.
A good exercise program is a must if you want to keep up your
looks - and that is definitely something
important to you. Because you have a high amount of patience,
you likely won't mind doing the same kind of workout program
every day. Taurus is also associated with the thyroid gland so
if you find that you are working hard at exercising, but can't
seem to lose the weight it might be worth while to have your
thyroid checked by a doctor.
About Taurus: The characteristics of Taurus
are solidity, practicality, extreme determination and strength
of will--no one will ever drive you, but you loyally follow a
leader that you trust. You are stable, balanced, law-abiding
people. You are a lover of peace, possessing a sense of material
values and physical possessions, respect for property and horror
of falling into debt. You will do everything you can to maintain
the security of the status quo and might be somewhat resistant
to change.
Mentally, you are witty
and practical more often than intellectual. You are generally
dependable, dedicated, cautious, just, and unaffected in the
face of difficulties. On rare occasions you may be stubbornly
self-righteous, unoriginal, rigid, argumentative, and get stuck
in a self-centered rut. You need someone to stroke your ego

will no longer need to blindly reassure yourself with external

Love and Friendship: You
are a faithful and generous friend with a great capacity for
affection, but rarely make friends with anyone outside your
social rank. You are gentle, good natured, modest, and slow
to anger, disliking quarrelling and avoiding hard feelings.
If you are provoked, however, you can explode into violent
outbursts of ferocious anger in which you seem to lose all
self-control. Equally unexpected are your occasional adventures
