Leo July 23 - Aug 22 - The Lion
Archetype:
The drama queen. Whatever happens in
your life is truly the best or worst you've ever experienced
- and you make sure that everyone knows it. You like to be
the center of attention so all this drama is quite normal to
you.
Stone: Ruby. The ruby
is known as a stone of nobility. It can improve success in
controversies and disputes, encouraging gentleness and discouraging
violence. It is an excellent shielding stone to protect you
from bodily harm and encourages one to follow bliss.
Ruling Planet: Sun. The Sun is considered male,
warm and dry. It symbolizes the ego, the core of life, vitality
(especially the heart), the concept of self-confidence as well
as charismatic powers. The Sun also represents our basic vitality,
with the potential of physical malfunction, which is inherited
in every person. The relationship between father and son or daughter
can be depicted by the relative placement of the Sun. The summit
of life is symbolized by the Sun and the success with which one
aims to achieve. In essence it is how we express our soul urge
and the reason for incarnating.
Mythology depicts Helios as the sun-god. There
are also accounts of Apollo as the god of storm, fire and light--the
divine son of the Sun and therewith of life. Apollo is the bearer
of the healing force, and brings illumination; with his rays
he kills the dark creatures of the underworld. Dionysos represents
the dark side of this light-god, the night side of our being.
Defining Animal: Lion. The male lions are not
particularly good hunters; females do the main work when the
male drives in the prey in the direction where they are hiding,
although the males insist on eating their share before the females.
Hunting occurs at night or cooler times of the day. The hotter
hours are spent resting in the shade. Only males grow a mane,
which can take up to five years to fully develop.
Health Problems: Leo governs the upper back,
forearms, wrist, spine, and heart. There may be major problems
with back and lung pains, diseases of the blood, sickness in
ribs and sides, and heart disease. You may also have common problems
with convulsions and violent fevers.
You tend to dislike the cold weather because you thrive in the
sun. A therapeutic remedy is to take part in yoga or simple stretching
routines. A good dance class is also another form of exercise
that you'd like as it gives you a chance to use your creativity.
About Leos: Leo is the most dominant, spontaneously
creative, and extrovert of all the zodiacal characters. In your
grandiose manner and fair personality, you are the monarchs among
humans as the lion of beasts. You are ambitious, courageous,
dominant, strong willed, positive, independent, self-confident,
and there is no such word as doubt in your vocabulary.
As a born leader, you are either in support of or against the
status quo. You are uncomplicated, knowing exactly what you want
and using all your energy, creativeness, and resolution to get
it. You think and act bigger than others would normally dare
and the ambitiousness of your schemes and idealism sometimes

and Friendship: In relationships with others,
you are open, genuine, and trusting. Outgoing, spontaneously
warm hearted, though never lacking in compassion, you are affected

judge of character and are inclined to favoritism and an exaggerated
faith in the ones your love or care for, which often ends in
disappointment. You have a strong sex drive and are so attracted
to sex that you find it hard to be constant. You may have numerous
