The Crab
Archetype: The
Mother. You are the nurturer, the caretaker. You often put others
ahead of your own needs, you just can't help it. You are sensitive
and often have a certain "way" about
you that you can't explain, but people cling to.
Stone: The pearl.
The pearl can be all the silvery colors of the moon and not just
white. It takes on the colors of the oyster in which it is grown.
A perfect pearl can sell for as much as $250k. This precious
stone can be harmed if subjected to hair spray, acids, perspiration,
and some types of cosmetics.
Ruling Planet: Moon. The Moon is considered
female, having a strong association with fertility and intuitive
feelings. It symbolizes the home, the family, the mother and
personal character. The Moon has a matriarchal or nurturing influence
that in early years leaves a deep impression within your subconscious.
As
the Moon shows itself in various ways, so are its attached goddesses.
There is Artemis, the virginal goddess; Hera, the goddess of
maternity; and Demeter, who is supposed to symbolize the caring
mother. She hunts the forests, is pure and is never seen without
the viewer being killed or made an example of. She rules the
human life cycle from birth, fertility and on to death.
Defining Animal: Crab.The
crab is a nocturnal water creature that has massive claws to
defend itself. They survive very well in the wild ocean.
Health
Problems: Cancer rules the chest, breasts, elbows, stomach,
womb, digestive tract and female reproductive organs. Other
common problems include: varicose veins, weak digestion, and
gas. Your tendency to worry may upset your system and may even
lead to ulcers and a decreased immune system.
Although many people think
this sign is more susceptible to the disease of cancer that
is a myth. The sign is a derivative of the Latin word "cancer" also
meaning crab.
About Cancer: This
is the least clear cut of all signs. You show a wide range
from the timid and shy to the most brilliant and famous. You
are conservative and appreciate a secure home environment where
you can come home and relax from the stresses of life. "Nest
like" is an appropriate term associated with Cancerians because
you appreciate the dark, mysterious but comfortable type of house
which resembles somewhat of a den.
You are, however, very social; but, sometimes you would rather
be alone than entertaining the masses. This is often something
you struggle desperately with. You can appear unemotional and
thick skinned, but once someone gets close they understand your
sympathetic, sensitive nature. You are able to identify with
the situation because of your vivid imagination. You appreciate
the arts, especially drama, and often have considerable talent
in those areas. Your down-to-earth nature often promotes interest
in occult and you are more open to psychic influence than the
average person.
You can be untidy, have an inferiority complex, and sulk over
insults that may not have happened. You can change your opinions
often and may lack stability. You are easily corrupted and, in
the same turn, can easily stab someone in the back.
Love and Friendship: You are usually a mix of
toughness and softness. You make a loyal partner, even if you
have an affair (which men are more likely to do because of his
need for sensual stimulation). You consider yourself a protector
of your family. You are easily swayed by emotion in the moment
and influenced by those you love and admire. Women tend to like
large families and enjoy being surrounded by family. You have
an amazing memory for moments that are linked to emotional ties.
You often recall childhood memories and can even live too much
in the past to the point where a chance meeting with someone
from your past can conjure up the same emotions all over again.
Career: There are many
possible occupations that would fit a Cancerian. You are interested
in what people are thinking and may be successful in looking
after others. You enjoy a career that has variety and change,
yet you need some areas of your job that are ritualistic. You
have a great business sense, so are usually able to succeed
in any career you choose. Just keep in mind that fulfillment
